Some Perspective for Every Old Soul Who Feels Alone Right Now
/There are days when you feel like you’re completely on the right right track - you feel alive, switched on, and your most confident. And then there are days like these: you’re over-thinking everything, your annoying inner monologue is kicking in - you feel confused, lost and alone.
Maybe you feel like you’re not doing enough with your life and you’re behind where you’re supposed to be for your age. Maybe you lost a big love and it’s made you rethink everything. Maybe not getting something that you really wanted has made you feel down, making you question the meaning of everything. Maybe you’re struggling and you don’t even know why.
The truth is, you’re going to be more than okay. Old souls often have it the hardest because they have a greater purpose - to be given a straight, smooth, easy path would keep you from living the interesting life you are here to live. Your path may be more challenging, but it is also so much more compelling.
You interact with the world differently than others. Understand that you are more sensitive - you feel deeper than others, you notice details that others don't. You think about everything - maybe a little too much. But it’s in your intolerability of “what’s supposed to be” that you innovate your own life.
You will not settle for anything “average” or surfacy. While many are very content, happy even, with living life in a straight line, you will never be able to. This will create obstacles - but remember, you wouldn’t want it any other way. Understand that some situations are meant to change your life rather than make you comfortable.
You have quite a lot of things yet to experience - to be given comfort too soon would keep you from the other important things you are here to do. Feeling unsatisfied with yourself or your life keeps you hungry and it keeps you moving forward. Because that feeling you have - that nagging feeling that tells you that you’re not doing enough - that feeling will make you transform your life.
Remember that there’s also a lot that you to accomplish on your own - you love too deeply to be given your soulmate too soon. You love unconditionally, with every fiber of your being, and to be given true love too soon would keep you from truly discovering who you are and your worth as an individual, and this is extremely important. You must attend to yourself first because you have a greater purpose and attending to someone else would distract you from it.
There is a whole world out there that you have to discover. So many people stay where they are - emotionally or physically - because it takes courage to endure the sharp pains of self-discovery to cultivate the life you actually want to live.
You care, maybe a little too much, maybe so much that it makes life difficult at times, but remember, old souls aren’t suppose to have it easy. You’re here for a reason, you’re not willing to settle, and subsequently, you have to be patient.
